Roslyn Dauber, Producer/Director
Having worked with Tibetan refugees and produced documentaries about the Bonpo community for years, Roslyn Dauber realized that most Westerner's exposure to Tibetan culture was through its male teachers, lamas, monks and men. She began to wonder what Tibetan women refugees experience was and how to be more acquainted with that part of the community. She sought out women teachers, community women, Tara practitioners, and began working with the Tibetan Women's Association. This documentary was started however, as a response to her own tragedy. She lost her home and business in a Southern California wildfire and realized what it was like to be a refugee in her own hometime. Inspired by the courageousness and ability of Tibetan women to preserve culture, family, and community - the seven year production of TARA's DAUGHTERS was the gateway for her reconstructing her own life.
